In partnership with the Whadjuk Noongar community, State Buildings has launched a comprehensive Indigenous heritage interpretation program that acknowledges and celebrates the traditional custodians of Boorloo (Perth) and their enduring connection to the land.

Honoring First Nations Heritage

The program includes Indigenous language signage, interpretive displays developed in collaboration with Noongar elders, guided tours led by Indigenous cultural educators, and commissioned artworks that tell stories of country. These initiatives ensure that the deep Indigenous history of the area is recognized alongside the colonial heritage of the buildings.

This partnership represents an important step in reconciliation and truth-telling, creating spaces where all aspects of Western Australia's history are honored and shared.
